Women's Team to take on Pembroke Athleta

by Ayrton Galea - 26th January 2015

Birkirkara FC's Women's Team will be seeking to maintain their challenge for the title, in the second match of the Championship Pool when they will face Pembroke Athleta FC.

In their last match against each, two weeks ago, Birkirkara won the match 2-0, but Pembroke lodged a protest over the ineligibility of a player. MFA's Disciplinary Board awarded a 3-0 victory to Pembroke, which outcome is still fresh in Birkirkara's minds.

However, this decision taken last Tuesday morning, motivated the Birkirkara players even more, and later on in the day, they registered a 4-0 victory over Kirkop United.

On the other hand, despite winning the match against Birkirkara off the field, Pembroke suffered a setback last Tuesday when they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Raiders FC. Therefore, they remained in the fifth place, one point behind Mgarr United and six points over sixth-placed Kirkop United.

The match will be played at the Charles Abela Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 20:15.

Come on the Stripes!
