Birkirkara FC Under-19's Team will face Sliema Wanderers FC this evening in the Youths Knock-out final, and in view of this match, we interviewed one of the Youth Academy products, Zack Cassar.

Zack told us, “I trained with the Birkirkara FC nursery since I was very young, Birkirkara FC is my home-town club and I feel honoured to play for this club.”

Humble, yet determined, Zack's dedication and passion has awarded him a number of call-ups with the Senior Team at the age of seventeen years old. Zack told us, “Youngsters should never give up on themselves whatever the circumstances are. They should play with passion and for the club. They should always work hard and give everything on their dreams.”

It has been a roller-coaster ride for the team this season, where they endured a slow start but they reached the peak as the season went on. Zack told us, “We took a while to settle down as a team, but once we settled down we never looked back.”

Asked about the most memorable matches of the season, Zack said, “There were two matches. First, it was the Knock-out match against Qormi where despite a number of circumstances, we never lost hope and kept fighting till the end. On the other hand, the second match is the second-round league match against Hibernians where we showed a lot of fighting spirit.”

About today's match, Zack said, “We are expecting a very tough game since it is a final. We will face this game with determination and we hope to be on the winning side.”

Zack concluded this interview by encouraging the Birkirkara support to come and support the U19 team for this evening's match, “We hope we will have the supporters as our 12th player and we promise to give our utmost best. Hopefully we can give them a game to enjoy.”

The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 19:00.
