Stripes take on Saints in FA Trophy

by Ayrton Galea - 28th November 2016

Birkirkara FC will be fancying their chances of reaching the fourth round of the Malta FA Trophy when this evening they will take on the BOV Premier League side, St. Andrew's FC.

The two teams have met just two weeks ago where it was only a goal by substitute Matteo Desira Buttigieg that avoided Birkirkara a very surprising defeat against the tactically disciplined side of St. Andrew's FC, and there is no doubt that the Stripes will be all out to get the better of their opponents in today's tricky fixture.

Birkirkara heaved a sigh of relief on Saturday afternoon when they registered the first victory after three matches, as three late goals helped them defeat Tarxien Rainbows FC. On the other hand, St. Andrew's were in a total different form when they lost heavily with a 4-1 score against Floriana and to make things worse for them, they ended the match with nine players as they had two sent off.

The Stripes are expected to be in full strength for this match.

The match will be played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium and it will kick off at 20:15.

Come on the Stripes!
