Birkirkara FC Women Under-19's Team shared the spoils with Raiders FC on Sunday Morning, as Veronique Mifsud scored four minutes on the added time of the second half to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw.

In a balanced match, Raiders scored first and enjoyed a slight edge over their opponents in the first-half. However, the Stripes stepped-up their tempo in the second half and they won a deserved point thanks to a last-gasp goal.

Raiders surged ahead on the thirty-third minute. A long ball towards Michela Bonello Ghio saw the Raiders forward doing fine foot-work as she advanced in the box and placed the ball past goalkeeper Anthea Enriquez.

The Stripes stepped-up their tempo in the second half. They failed to convert several scoring opportunities, but they made amendments by notching a last-gasp goal. Samantha Zarb unzipped the defence with an inch-perfect pass towards the towering player Veronique Mifsud who remained calm and slotted past goalkeeper Nicole Magro, much to the delight of the Birkirkara clan.

BIRKIRKARA: Anthea Enriquez, Sarah Cassar, Nicole Zammit, Jessica Farrugia Cross, Samantha Zarb, Veronique Mifsud, Emma Bonnici, Sarah Urpani, Shania Tabone (Samira Muscat).

Scorers: 33' Michela Bonello Ghio (Raiders), 80+4' Veronique Mifsud (Birkirkara).
