Birkirkara FC completed two entire rounds unbeaten in the BOV Women's League, when they defeated Kirkop United FC with a 2-0 score.

The Stripes surged ahead after five minutes. Captain Stephania Farrugia saw her penalty saved by Sharon Costantino, but the Birkirkara player kept her cool to convert from the rebound.

Birkirkara were all over their opponents in the first half, and they went close to increase the lead on several occasions. Ann-Marie Said's powerful shot was denied by the crossbar, while efforts by Tracy Teuma and Kailey Willis failed to hit the target. Ylenia Carabott's shot was denied by a brilliant save of the Kirkop United goalkeeper, Sharon Costantino.

The Stripes doubled their lead on the sixty-second minute. Alishia Sultana made a powerful run before serving Raina Giusti who hit a first-time effort past Costantino. For Giusti, this was her sixth goal in the last five matches.

Carabott was denied again by another great save of Costantino, while moments later, the same player failed to hit the target from inside the box. Substitute Sarah Urpani went close to add further gloss on the victory, but her low shot was saved by the Kirkop United goalkeeper.

After the first two rounds, the Stripes registered thirteen victories and one draw. They scored sixty goals while they conceded just three to end the first phase of the league with the best attack and best defence.
