Birkirkara FC Girls U-12 to play in Dana Cup 2019

Birkirkara FC Girls Under-12's Team will be the first Maltese female team to appear on the forefront of this year's Dana Cup 2019 Tournament, held in Hjørring. The Dana Cup is an international youth football tournament in Denmark that has been held for every year since 1982.

Following the news, coaches Melania Bajada and Yasmeen Vella have both engaged themselves into taking this opportunity to lead these girls into the reaching higher technique standards. With no rest on the horizon, the coaches have already started training sessions for the girls and these will intensify as we get closer to the day.

Asked to quote what will be the outcome of this opportunity, Head Coach Melania replied, “The passion of playing football within these girls will prevail. They put heart, mind and body into it and we are here to help them reach their dreams.”

Coach Yasmeen has also been a key-member to attract more girls to the academy and has succeeded in doing so with seeing entries on the increase. Coach Yasmeen said,” it's so rewarding to see these young players communicate and support each other even when presumed the underdogs. Their optimism excels and results are impressive.”

The team shall be composed of Amber Sciberras, Danika Micallef, Erica Muscat, Francesca Bartolo, Lexine Farrugia, Lucia Said, Michela Mifsud Gauci, Sara Saliba, Stella Francalanza, and Ylenia Azzopardi and coming 19th July will be flying to Denmark to live another dream.
