Vito Plut was born on the 8 July 1988 and he plays as a forward, who can play on the wing or as a central striker. He is considered as an opportunistic striker thanks to his attacking potential. He joined our Club in the 2015 Summer Transfer Market.

Vito came from the ranks of NK Kolpa and he made it in the Senior Team for the first time in the 2006-2007 season. He joined NK Koper in the following season before moving to the famous Slovenian side, NK Maribor in the 2008 where he spent two successful seasons with fourteen goals from sixty-four appearances.

After Maribor’s two-season spell, he joined another Slovenian side, ND Gorica before moving outside Slovenia to join Belgian club, Waasland-Beveren before moving to Germany and signs for Waasland-Beveren and later on joined 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 2013-2014 season.

It was Floriana FC, under the guidance of Mr. Giovanni Tedesco, who brought the Slovenian forward to Malta who joined them in August 2014. Plut established himself as one of the best strikers on our island and played a key-role in the satisfactory fourth placed achieved by the Greens. He played thirty-two matches and scored twelve goals to be the team’s second best scorer.

After Plut had his contract expired with Floriana, several Clubs were interested in his services, including the same Floriana who tried to keep the Slovenian striker with them but it was the Stripes who managed to acquire his services as he signed a three-year contract with our Club on Monday, 22 June 2015.

He made his debut with our Club on the 2 July 2016 in the goal-less draw in the first leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against Ulisses FC. During his first season, he ended as the team’s top scorer with eleven goals and he was voted three times the BOV Player of the Match.
