The Football Parent Course
by Ivan Mizzi - 15th October 2014The intention of the MFA is to broaden its football education to all the stakeholders. As coaches and players are more educated about the game, the parent needs to be part of this strategy and be a positive partner in their son's / daughter's development. Parents have a very strong influence on their children and they need to sustain further development rather than stifle their own child's growth. The football parent is enabled to nurture a range of competences which in turn allows the child to develop in a more stable environment.
In view of the above the MFA Technical Centre Education Dept. will be holding a 4 sessions course titled 'The Football Parent'. Sessions will be held on the 17th & 18th November and the 1st & 2nd December from 16.30 to 20.30. Closing date for applications is Tuesday 4th November 2014. Applications will be received on first come first served basis and the Technical Centre keeps the right to cancel course if it is under prescribed. All participants will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.
This short course will cover topics of long-term player development, nutrition, psychology, registration rules, dealing with injuries and how to review winning in their child's development. All lecturers are experts in their field and the candidates are expected to be actively involved in the course.
