Interview with Trevor Cilia
by Ayrton Galea - 7th July 2010After yesterday's game, in which our team managed to beat Santa Coloma with a 4-3 score line, we decided to interview one of yesterday's best players who scored a brace, Trevor Cilia.
Unfortunately, it has been certified this morning that Trevor Cilia broke his arm in yesterday's game Vs. Santa Coloma.
This injury leaves Trevor in a doubtful place for both upcoming matches of the UEFA Champions League where our team will meet the Champions of Slovakia, MSK Zilina.
Following is the interview with Trevor:
What was Mr. Paul Zammit's reaction after learning that the match had been cancelled in Andorra and upon being informed later on about the decision of a walkover victory for Birkirkara?
The coach wasn't happy at all; he had always believed that we were able to make it on the pitch for both the away and home matches.
When considering that for this game, you already had three goals in the bag; do you think that this may have affected some players' performances in a negative way?
Yes, that might have had an effect, however, this is never a valid excuse because you have to play every game to win and give a satisfying performance.
Do you agree with those people who said that we could have played much better yesterday?
I think that in every game, there is always room for improvement, our team could have played better but I don't think we had a bad performance.
In your opinion, what are the' Stripes' chances of making it into another round?
The fact that this is the first time Birkirkara managed to qualify is already a great honor for us so far. We have to take it game by game, but, what is sure is that they will not have an easy ride! We are there and we promise to give our 100% as we do in every game we play.
Two goals in the UEFA Champions League is an honour for both you and the Club. What are the chances of having your name on the scoring list again?
I am very happy that I managed to score two goals in one game in the UEFA Champions League, a match of such great importance for Birkirkara's history. I can't promise the supporters that I shall score again due to the injury I sustained yesterday, but I will promise that if I only have one chance in the game, I'll try my utmost to punish the opponent goalie.
We wish Trevor a speedy recovery as his skills are vital for the team in every match!
