Leighton Grech joins Birkirkara FC

Birkirkara F.C. have opened their acquisition campaign for season 2011-2012 by engaging the services of 21 year old Leighton Grech. He has joined 'The Stripes' on a five years contract.

Leighton is a Hibernians nursery product and last season he was loaned out to Vittoriosa Stars. Although Leighton failed to help this team to keep their Premier Leagues status, he was definitely one of the best youngsters in the Premier League.

Last season the Under 21 International player made no less than 20 appearances. He started with the first eleven fifteen times, and he was utilised as a substitute the other five times. He managed to score two goals.

Birkirkara FC will be formalising the transfer deal with Hibernians FC in the coming days.
