Interview with Alishia Sultana
by Ayrton Galea - 29th January 2012The Birkirkara FC Women Team extended their unbeaten streak to twelve matches, so this week we decided to interview probably one of the youngest players that had ever played in the Women First Division's League, Alishia Sultana.
Many readers might be surprised at the very young age of Alishia as she is already succeeding in her football career. With Alishia, we talked about her personal life, her adventure with our Club and other things.
Who is Alishia Sultana?
I'm 14 years old, and I'm from Zejtun but I live at Hal Safi. I am a very outgoing person and I like to make new friends.
Can you tell us how you spend your regular day?
I start my day by going to school, then come home do my homework, spend sometime on the computer, until it's time to go for training
How do you spend your weekends?
I like to spend my weekends going out with my friends.
What are your main hobbies?
My main hobbies are playing football, gymnastics and to go for walks.
What kind of music do you like?
My favourite types of music are pop and trance.
What is your favourite food?
Chicken breast and pasta.
Many see football as a male's game. Do you agree?
I don't agree that football is a men's game.
What changes do you wish to see in women's football?
I would like to see more supporters.
Do you follow international football? If yes, which is your favourite nation when it comes to football, and which is your favourite foreign Club?
Yes I follow international football, and my favourite nation is Spain and foreign club is Barcelona.
Why, and at what age did you start playing football?
At school once they gave us an opportunity to choose a type of sport and I choose football. At age 11, I joined my first club.
Why did you join our Club?
I joined Birkirkara because they are one of the best teams in women's football and I know that I can learn a lot from them and especially from our Coach Johann.
How are you feeling with our Club?
I'm feeling very comfortable and very welcome thanks to my team mates, coach and helpers.
What do you enjoy most at training?
I enjoy most when we have time left to play against each other.
We know that you are one of the youngest players ever that had ever played for Birkirkara's Women's Team. At this early stage, what are your difficulties when playing against opponents?
The only difficulty that I find is that I'll be excited
Can you tell us your favourite match so far?
I enjoyed every match.
What are your comments about last match?
In the last match I think that we needed to communicate more.
Do really believe that we can win the league?
Yes, I believe that we can win this league
What are the most important things in your life?
My family and football are the most important things in my life.
