Under 16's Girls team suffer first defeat

Birkirkara Under 16 Girls team has suffered its first defeat after three matches. They lost with a 4-1 score against Gozo FC.

This was the fourth match for 'The Stripes'. Zejtun Corinthians retired from the U16 League and therefore all games that were played involving Zejtun were annulled.

Birkirkara's team could not handle Gozo as the latter went ahead early in the match. Birkirkara equalised thanks to Raina Giusti after improving their play, but Gozo stepped up their level once again and scored three goals to give Birkirkara their first defeat.

Birkirkara will be involved in the match of the week next Sunday when they will face Mosta in a much awaited match. The match will be played at the Gharghur grounds and it is scheduled to kick off at 09:00.
