'We are considering it as a war' Johann Scicluna
by Ayrton Galea - 29th May 2013League Champions Birkirkara will be facing Mosta this evening in the Women's knockout final, in their bid of winning the double, and just a few hours before kick-off, Women's Team Coach Johann Scicluna gave his comments to this website.
Mr. Scicluna is considering this match as a sporting war, a battle to confirm the team's potential and to confirm the deserved title of Champions that the Stripes won just a few weeks ago.
“After a long season full of commitment by our players, it is time to silence many that are involved with our rival teams. We did not steal the league title from anyone, but we won because we had a squad full of potential, and a dressing room atmosphere was like that of a family.
“So, this final, we are considering it as war, and we will be prudent only in the sense that we are going to eliminate them, and not they eliminate us. So I'm inviting all the supporters to come in their numbers, in yellow and red shirts, to create a wonderful atmosphere in our side, like we did in the decisive match against Mosta, and they'll be protagonists once again in this double we are going to bring to our Club.
“One for all, all for one - Birkirkara Champions.”
