'We won what the Club deserves - the double' - Mr. Johann Scicluna

Birkirkara FC's Women's Team commitments for Season 2012-2013 ended in a brilliant way, as the Stripes won the knockout competition after having landed the league title just 3 weeks prior. Their coach, Johann Scicluna sent a message to the Birkirkara supporters.

”After an excellent season full of sacrifices by our players, I think we arrived at our target and we won what the Club deserves - the double. I admit that it was a hard and long journey after two seasons where our players did not even have a break.

”I would like to thank all the players who were the protagonists. Although the team went through a big transition as many Under 16 youngsters were included, the team showed great character. They are a group who only know how to win.

“I would also like to thank the committee who was always close to the players and understands their needs. Whenever I asked for their help, they were there to give me whatever I wanted quickly. The team who is glorious in Women's football makes another step to being a professional team where I introduced technical staff who were also a success in our positive journey.

“Now it is time for a short rest and I would like to wish everyone who is close to our team, and all the Birkirkara supporters, summer holidays full of fun and happiness.

“Thank you for always being loyal to our Club.”
