Birkirkara Under-15's kept their momentum in the APS Under-15's Section B, and are just a small step away from clinching the title, when in an outstanding performance, they outclassed the challenge of Kirkop United and trashed them with a 7-0 score.

The Stripes are already promoted to Section A, and it seems that they have all that it takes to be crowned Champions. They will be mathematically crowned Champions if they beat, or even draw against, Floriana next Sunday, in the top of the table clash.

The First Half

The game started on a high note, and both teams battled in midfield to try and dominate. Birkirkara managed to create the odd chance, but nothing very notable. On the 28th minute mark Kyle Mifsud took charge of a free-kick from an angled position, and his powerful drive bounced once inside the box and ended in the back of the net. Only a minute later Kyle Mifsud took charge of a corner kick, which he managed to deliver perfectly into the small area, and Karl Caruana met the ball with his head and diverted into goal. Close to the half-time whistle, Neil Micallef pulled a wonder goal. He dribbled past 2 opponents and from a 25 meter range powerfully placed the ball in the far top corner.

The Second Half

The Stripes came out for the second half determined to continue where they left off in the first. With only five minutes on the clock, Ayrton Attard released Braden Calleja who was on an overlap. Braden managed to cut into the box and finish in the bottom corner to put the Stripes four goals ahead. The Birkirkara boys continued to add pressure and soon added another goal by Gianluca Zammit, who was sharp when he made the most of a goalkeeping blunder, by tapping the ball in the net. By this time Birkirkara had already made use of their five substitutions. With fresh legs on the pitch, Birkirkara's performance went from strength to strength. Towards the end of the game Karl Caruana made two impressive runs to break from midfield to attack. Karl completed both his runs with elegant finishes to make the final result 7-0 in Birkirkara's favour, and claim a hat-trick.
