After-match Press Conference

In the press conference after the second leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, where Diosgyor VTK defeated Birkirkara with a 4-1 score, Birkirkara's Head Coach, Mr. Paul Zammit said that every time that Birkirkara went close to score, they conceded the goal.

It was a balanced first half, but a goal just past the hour mark dashed Birkirkara's hopes with the Hungarian side taking total control to hit another two goals to advance with a comfortable 6-2 aggregate score.

The Birkirkara Coach said, “It was another match full of episodes. In the first half we started very slow and we conceded the goal but than there was a reaction. Then, in the second half, we tried to push the team forward because we needed goals, but the mistakes that we committed, punished us. The statistics of the second half show that we created a lot of chances, but every time that we went forward, they scored. All in all, well done to Diosgyori VTK and I wish them all the best.”
