Andrea Curmi about his Premier League debut
by Ayrton Galea - 19th January 2015Under-19's Team player Andrea Curmi made his BOV Premier League debut in the 2-1 victory over Floriana FC, and we asked for his comments.
Andrea is an eighteen year old midfielder who was part of last season's memorable Youths League Section A title, which was the first one in the Club's history. This season, he made nineteen appearances in the same competition, out of which he started seventeen matches while, was twice included as a substitute.
Andrea told us, “This Premier League debut means a lot for me. It is hopefully the start of a long journey in playing in the top division on our island. I felt very excited, but the support of my team-mates gave me enough motivation to overcome this.”
The Stripes registered a narrow 2-1 victory and Curmi praised the team's display. “I think we had a very good game. We had an edge over opponents and I think we were deserved winners. We will continue working hard to challenge for all the honours.”
Finally, Curmi said, “My targets are to continue working hard. I wish and hope to find space in the Birkirkara's Senior Team and to win honours with this Club.”
