Five Women's Team players named in Maltese National Women's Team

Five Birkirkara FC Women's Team players were named in the Maltese National Women's Team led by Mr. Mark Gatt for the Aphrodite Cup, which is going to be held in Cyprus between Thursday 12 March and Wednesday 18 March. Malta will be playing in Group B, with Cyprus, Bahrain and Azerbijan.

Goalkeeper Janice Xuereb, defenders-trio Gabriella Zahra, Stephania Farrugia and Yasmeen Vella and striker Kelly Agius Pace were the players named by the new Coach, Mr. Mark Gatt for this cup. For Vella, this was the first time to be in the squad for competitive games.

The Maltese contingent will be leaving our island tomorrow afternoon and they will be playing their first match on Thursday, 12 March against Azerbaijan. In the following day, the team will face Cyprus, and then Bahrain in the last match of the group on the 15 March. All matches are scheduled to kick off at 14:00 CET. The contingent will return on Thursday, 19 March in the afternoon.
