Sixth signing for the Stripes - Goran Mujanovic
by Ivan Mizzi - 17th January 2016Birkirkara FC completed the signing of the six acquisition when just a few moments ago, Croatian offensive player Goran Mujanovic signed a one and a half year contract with our Club.
Goran is a thirty-two year old offensive player who can either play in attack or in midfield. He is mostly known for successful spells throughout the years with top Croatian sides namely NK Varteks, NK Slaven Belupo and HNK Rijeka. Last season, he moved to Kuwait where played sixteen matches in which he scored nine goals and made seven assists.
Mujanovic came through the ranks of Varkas and he formed part for the first time with the Senior Team in the 2005-2006 season where he played six matches and scored two goals before he moved to the Belgian Club Lierse. With Lierse, he played thirty-four matches and scored three goals.
Following the positive spell with the Belgian Club, he returned to Varkas mid-way the 2006-2007 season and spent another three and a half seasons where he played ninety-six matches and scored twenty-five goals. He was the Club's top scorer in the 2008-2009 season with eleven goals.
In the 2010-2011 season, he joined Slaven Belupo and spent two seasons where he made fifty-three appearances in which he scored five goals and made eleven assists. In 2012, he joined HNK Rijeka where he spent two seasons. He played fifty-eighth matches and scored four goals.
The acquisition of Mujanovic will definitely strengthen the team's attacking department, as he will join foreigners Frank Temile and Vito Plut. He is the fifth foreigner to join our Club as besides Bubalovic, who joined our Club earlier today, goalkeeper Miroslav Kopric joined our Club last week while midfielders Edison Bilbao and Mislav Andelkovic joined our Club in the first week of the January Transfer Market.
