Birkirkara FC Women's Team second-half comeback fell short as Hibernians emerged as winners with a 5-3 score to lift the BOV Women's Super Cup.

Hibernians surged ahead after twelve minutes when a corner kick from the left, Jade Flask was left unmarked and hit a fine header past Janice Xuereb. The Stripes made them level with a brilliant direct free-kick by debutant Tracy Teuma just three minutes later.

The Paolites scored three in space of ten minutes thanks to a brace by Martina Borg and Shona Zammit to stun the unsettled Stripes to end the first half with a comfortable 4-1 score leaving the Stripes miles behind the Hibs' rich performance.

Fragile Stripes tried to comeback in the second half and two goals in space of three minutes by Kim Parnis and Raina Giusti put them back in the match with one goal down twelve minutes from time but a goal by Dorianne Thuema in the added time ensured her side's deserved victory and the sixth super cup.
