Press release: Clarification about media report with regards to match-fixing

In view of a certain report that appeared this morning in the media, that is fraught with inaccuracies, assumptions, speculation and outright lies.

Birkirkara FC would like to clarify as follows:

The Birkirkara FC committee received information about suspect behaviour of one of its players, and it passed on this information to the competent authorities immediately, for due investigation.

The committee would like to appeal for caution, and to let the competent authorities carry out their investigations.

Meantime Birkirkara maintains its utmost trust and faith in its coach Nikola Jaros, and will support him fully in any legal action he deems appropriate to take in order to protect his good name.
