Seven Youth Academy Products in yesterday's line-up

Birkirkara FC Youth Academy has always believed in the importance of having its players make it to the Seniors Team. Yesterday's match against Mosta FC was a showcase of this mentality, as the Stripes had no less than seven Academy products including five Under-19's Team players in the eighteen-man squad. Neil Micallef and Zack Cassar both made their debut in the BOV Premier League.

Under-19's Team midfielder Neil Micallef experienced an unfortunate debut as he suffered an injury after just ten minutes and was unable to continue playing. On the other hand, on a more positive note, Zack Cassar became the fourth Under-19's Team player to debut in the BOV Premier League this season when he was included as a substitute three minutes from time.

Under-19's Team players Gianluca Zammit and Ayrton Attard were both utilised as substitutes in the match, while the Stripes had another two Under-19's Team players namely Jordan Sciberras and Nicholas Farrugia on the bench. Kurt Zammit, an established Youth Academy product, played all the match.
