Women U19: Birkirkara FC 5-3 Kirkop United FC
by Ayrton Galea - 29th April 2018Birkirkara FC Women Under-19's Team advanced to the semi-final of the Women Under-19's Knock-Out, when they defeated Kirkop United FC with a 5-3 score. The Stripes will now face Champions Tarxien Rainbows FC in the semi-final scheduled on Sunday, 6 May.
The Stripes came from two goals down to overturn the score in their favour and make it to the semi-final. Demi Magrin put Kirkop United two goals up before Veronique Mifsud scored a thunderous direct free-kick before the end of the first half to put the Stripes back in the match.
Two quick-fire goals by Sarah Urpani and Mariah Sciberras saw the Stripes turning the score in their favour but Magrin made the score level again. Mifsud and Samantha Zarb scored a goal each to secure Birkirkara's place in the semi-final.
