Message to the supporters for Saturday's game
by Ayrton Galea - 3rd May 2018Birkirkara FC has released a statement for its supporters in view of next Saturday's much-awaited BOOST FA Trophy final match against Valletta FC.
“The Club would like to encourage all the supporters to come to the stadium and support the team in this important match. Birkirkara FC has always been one of the most followed teams on the island and the Club has no doubt that this will once again be a showcase in next Saturday's match.
The Club is appealing all the supporters that while encouraging their team, they respect our opponents and show full co-operation with the police. Matches like this Saturday's game should be a showcase of tolerance and friendship. Racism has no place anywhere, but especially not in football.
In case of a positive result, the MFA has made it clear that no supporters are allowed to invade the pitch. Failing to follow these instructions will result in cancelling the cup presentation. The Club is appealing all the supporters to follow this important instruction.
On the other hand, the Club is appealing all the supporters to show their sportsmanship in case the team ends up on the losing side. This season will be remembered for doing the unthinkable as from occupying the tenth place, we have managed to secure our place in European football next season.
Finally, the Club would like to thank all the supporters for their support throughout this season full of ups and downs. Nevertheless all the downs, our Club have did the unthinkable by securing a place in European football next season while finishing with the top-four in the BOV Premier League.
Thank you.
Mr. Frank Zarb - President"
