Coach John Buttigieg resigns
by Ayrton Galea - 7th September 2019Birkirkara FC would like to confirm that it has received the resignation of Coach Mr. John Buttigieg. Following days of discussions between the coach and the club's representatives, the resignation has been accepted.
The club would like to thank Mr. Buttigieg, who joined our club in a difficult moment last season where the team was struggling to obtain positive results and already occupying seventh place in the BOV Premier League with just two games to go.
Unfortunately, despite the heavy investment in the summer transfer market to revive the clubs fortunes the team started with two defeats. However, one should point out the early dismissal in the second match that characterised the outcome.
The club can confirm that it is in discussions to appoint a new coach in the coming days. Assistant Coach Jonathan Holland has been confirmed together with the rest of the technical staff.
The club would like to thank Mr. Buttigieg for his services during the time with our club whilst wishing him the best of luck in the future.
