Match Preview | Birkirkara FC - Olimpija
by Clayton Schembri - 29th July 2021Birkirkara FC will be involved in the second leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League this evening, when they will play home at the Centenary Stadium to face Olimpija Ljubiljana from Slovenia, kick-off at 18:00.
The Stripes will have to bounce back from the narrow 1-0 defeat of last week. The Birkirkara coach will have all the players available for selection, even Paul Mbong.
Head Coach Andre Paus Addressing a press-conference moments after yesterday`s training session at the Centenary stadium said, “I firmly believe that we have a great chance to progress, and we are going to do everything we can to try and upset our opponents. Despite the defeat, we still had a good result, and we could avoid the goal. However, the most important thing is that we are still in the game and now we will have to score.
Paus said “It will be very important for us to show the same kind of tactical organisation and make sure we keep our levels of concentration high throughout the 90 minutes. Last week we did one mistake, and we were punished, and we cannot repeat that in the home match.”
Come on Stripes!
