Esequiel Lovizon was born on 10 August 1981 and he signed for Birkirkara FC in the 2010 Summer Transfer Market.
During season 2009-2010, Birkirkara FC had one of the best goalkeepers, Jorge Mora, but they still decided to release him and instantly, the technical team began the search for a suitable substitute.
The choice fell on the Italian-Brazilian goalkeeper, Esequiel Lovizon whose goalkeeping skills managed to impress Head Coach Paul Zammit. After several weeks on trial it was decided that for the next season, Lovizon would be 'The Stripes' goaler.
Esequiel agreed to sign a one year deal contract on the 21 June 2010 and on the same day he made his debut with 'The Stripes' in a 3-1 loss against Sliema Wanderers in the Euro Challenge Cup. The beginning of his experience was not as satisfying as expected for the 190 cm tall goaler, but by time, he improved in no small way.
He contributed largely in the historic win against MSK Zilina on Tuesday, 13 July when Birkirkara emerged as winners with a 1-0 score line. Lovizon performed a large number of good saves to deny the visitors from scoring.
The 2nd leg saw Lovizon performing a good number saves as well but he could do nothing on the three occasions when MSK Zilina managed to score.
On Saturday, 21 August Birkirkara were involved in the hugely expected match, the Super Cup final. Birkirkara were denied from making it to the penalty shoot out in the very last second thanks to a goal by Joseph Okonkwo to make the score 3-2 for 'The Citizens'. Although Birkirkara lost, everyone was impressed by the performance of Esequiel who denied 'The Citizens' to extend their lead on several occasions.
Lovizon impressed all the supporters with his great reflexes which make it a very difficult task for any striker to put the ball past him.
