Gonzalo Malan hails from Uruguay and he was born on the 8 April 1988. The towering forward joined our Club in December 2016.
Gonzalo is best described as a strong player who is found at the right position, at the right time inside the box. He is also known for his powerful shots and his free-kick taking abilities both from short and long distances.
The experienced forward had successful spells mainly in Uruguay, but also had short spells in Chile in the top division with Antofagasta and Santiago Morning respectively. On the other hand, he played for Rentistas, Rample Juniors and Sud America in Uruguay. He was last playing for Plaza Colonia in Uruguay in 2016, where he made ten appearances and scored three goals.
Season 2016-2017
The Stripes ended the year in a disappointing fifth place position and it was evident that despite ending the year with the second best attack, that department was their biggest weak point as they were failing miserably to convert their number of scoring chances.
With the aim and hope to strengthen the attacking department, the Stripes signed Gonzalo Malan in the second week of December. He signed a one year and a half contract.
