Gary Muir was born on the 15 December 1988 and he plays as a left-back. The Scottish player joined our Club in the 2017 January Transfer Market.
Gary had established himself as one of the best side-back players that has every played lately on our island. He is well-known for his defensive skills while on the other hand, he is dangerous with his powerful overlaps. During his career, he has always been a versatile playing as he have the ability on playing on both side-backs and wing-backs.
In his professional career, before coming to our island, he had played in Ireland, Scotland and America Following playing with Scottish club Stirling Albion in the 2007-2008 season, he moved to Ireland to join Lisburn Distillery. He then played for Clyde, Ballymena United, Airdrie United in Scotland before moving to central America to join Antigua GFC.
Gary moved to Malta and signed with Vittoriosa Stars FC in the 2012-2013 season. He had an excellent spell and this caught the interest of Floriana FC who signed the Scottish left-back for the following season. With the Greens, he spent two seasons where he made fifty-four appearances and scored twelve goals.
Following his successful spell with Floriana, he signed for Sliema Wanderers FC in the 2015-2016 season. The left-back had a memorable season where he was a regular player who helped Sliema Wanders to win the FA Trophy at the end of the season.
Season 2016-2017
Gary stayed with the Wanderers following a very positive season and he remained a regular choice under the new guidance of Coach John Buttigieg. The Wanderers ended 2016 in a respective sixth place in the BOV Premier League.
In the January Transfer Market, the Stripes were looking for a left-back and the choice fell on Gary Muir who signed a two year contract with our Club, from Sliema Wanderers FC. As part of the deal, Frank Temile moved to the Wanderers.
