This week's interview could be described as a different one from usual, as this week we interviewed Luke Montebello, the former Birkirkara striker who last July joined As Livorno Calcio on a two year contract.
Birkirkara FC Youth Nursery has the pleasure to announce that it will be hosting a football festival at the Infetti Training Grounds. This festival will span over a weekend, the dates being Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of March. It will commemorate and honour the life and work of legendary football administrator Mr. Alfred Borg and football coach Mr. Mario Borg, under whom our Nursery excelled.

John Buttigieg and Carmel Busutill to head Birkirkara Academy
John Buttigieg and Carmel Busutill have been appointed to head the Birkirkara FC Academy, after they agreed terms with our Club. This appointment is with immediate effect. In the transition period they will assist the current Nursery.
Mr. Henry Bray has resigned from his position as Chairman of the Birkirkara Football Club Youth Nursery.Mr. Michael Vella de Fremeaux has been appointed as the new Chairman.
Birkirkara F.C. jointly with Birkirkara F.C. Youth Nursery would like to advise that Mr. Justin Attard no longer forms part of the same Youth Nursery's committee or any part of its setup, with immediate effect.
On Thursday 28th July Luke Montebello, the promising youngster and product of Birkirkara FC Youth Nursery, together with Fabio Muscat of Valletta FC, travelled to Italy in order to join the Livorno Youth Academy, in the region of Tuscany. This season Livorno 'A' will be competing in the Serie B league after being a whisker away of making it to the promotion playoffs that would have gave them a chance of making it to the Serie A. Both Luke Montebello and Fabio Muscat form part of the Maltese Under-17 National Team.
Birkirkara F.C. Youth Nursery would like to inform the general public that it is accepting applications from boys and girls between the age of 4 (born in 2007) and 15 (born in 1996) who are interested in joining the nursery from the coming season. Application forms can be collected from the Infetti Training Grounds, B. Bontadini Street, Birkirkara (opposite to the St Theresa Girls' Junior Lyceum). Birkirkara FC Youth Nursery appointed Mr Charles Sciberras as Technical Advisor and Mr Franco Agius as Nursery Head Coach for the season 2011/12.
Eurosport International Youth Football Festival Comes to an End
During last weekend Birkirkara FC Youth Nursery, in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority, the Maltese Council for Sport and Sports Park Malta, hosted the Eurosport International Youth Football Festival at the Infetti Training Grounds, in memory of Alfred Borg and Mario Borg.
Youth Nursery Launches the Eurosport International Youth Football Festival
Following an action-packed Christmas period, the Infetti Training Grounds will once again be buzzing with activity on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April. This time round, the Birkirkara FC Youth Nursery, in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority and Sports Park Malta, will be hosting the Eurosport International Youth Festival, in memory of the Late Alfred Borg and Mario Borg.
Birkirkara F.C. Youth Nursery 5th Atalanta B.C. Christmas Stage 2010
Andrea Bassi, Matteo Moranda and Andrea Paravisi will be the three Italian professional coaches from Atalanta B.C. Settore Giovanile, who this year will be visiting Malta to train the Maltese boys and girls participating in the 5th Atalanta B.C. Stage Malta 2010 to be held at the Infetti Training Grounds, Birkirkara, between 26 - 31 December 2010.
During this Christmas period, precisely between the 26th and the 30th December 2010, Italian Serie A team, Atalanta B.C. in collaboration with Birkirkara F.C. Youth Nursery will be organising for the fifth time in Malta, a five day Football Stage at the New Infetti Artificial Pitches in Bontadini Street, Birkirkara.
Between Thursday 28th October and Tuesday 2nd November, the Birkirkara FC Youth Nursery Under-17 squad was in Valenzia for 6-day training camp. The squad was engaged in five training sessions in all, the most busy day being that of Friday 29th October, with two training sessions. The session held on Sunday 31st October morning, at the Valenzia Training Grounds, was carried out under the guidance of Valenzia's Youth Academy Coach Mr Juan Carlos Magro, and not Mr Oscar Fernandez as previously reported. Mr Magro was really enthusiast to lead the Maltese boys' training session. Once the session was over, he took the Birkirkara players and delegates around the premises explaining what goes on day in day out.
Valenzia CF, one of the top clubs in Spain, have invited the Birkirkara F.C. Youth Nursery Under-17 squad for a 6-day training camp. During this stay, the young Stripes will be able to experience many aspects of a professional youth academy set-up, something which will undoubtedly leave positive effects on the Maltese boys, coach and delegates alike.
On Saturday, Ronald McDonald visited the Nursery of Birkirkara FC. Our nursery is one of the largest Nurseries in Malta with over 300 children attending regularly to the scheduled training sessions.
