In a friendly match played in Marsaxlokk, Birkirkara managed to beat the hosts with a 2-3 scoreline, after being a goal behind in two different occasions.
Early on in the match, Marsaxlokk took the lead, thanks to a rebounded effort which beat the Birkirkara goalie.
In the second half, our side equalised through Sylvano Comvalius, but it was newly-relegated Marsaxlokk that re-took the lead following a cynical counter-attack.
'The Stripes' weren't demoralized by this goal, and in fact, Karl Pulo made it 2-2 soon after.
Pulo was on mark again, to make the score 2-3 for 'The Stripes'. Our team also had the luxury of missing a penalty through Alan Tabone in the latter stages of the match.
