Birkirkara and Qormi out to collect the three points

by Ayrton Galea - 4th February 2011

Birkirkara will be involved in another difficult match as in the first match of tomorrow's programme they will face Qormi.

Birkirkara's morale is high after grabbing the maximum points from their last two outings. The last one being last Sunday against Vittoriosa, with the win arriving thanks to a solitary goal by the debutant Andrei Agius.

On the other hand, our opponents, Qormi, grabbed three points out of a possibile six. Two weeks ago, Qormi were beaten by Floriana to the tune of 4-3. Last Saturday they bounced back by beating Hibernians with a 1-0 and condemning them to the Relegation Pool.

Birkirkara are currently fourth with twenty six points, nine points ahead of Qormi who have seventeen points. While 'The Stripes' need the three points to continue extending their positive run and trying to close the gap with leaders Valletta. Qormi are in need of a win if their wish to make it to the first six places is to become a reality.

This week, both teams strengthened their squad. Two days ago, Ibrahim Babatunde joined Birkirkara F.C. On the other hand, yesterday, Qormi managed to engage the services of the Maltese Team's Captain, Michael Mifsud.

Against expectations the International Transfer Certificate of 'Baba' did not arrive on time. This means that he is not eligible to play in tomorrow's match.

In the first round, a brace by Emiliano Lattes was enough for the "Stripes" to beat Qormi with a tune of 2-0 score line.

Birkirkara will be lacking the services of Joseph Zerafa who is suspended after collecting his fourth yellow card. Trevor Cilia is still ruled out injured.

Come on the Stripes!
