Birkirkara FC signs Gonzalo Malan

Birkirkara FC, just a few moments ago, signed towering Uruguayan forward, Gonzalo Malan, on a one year and a half contract with our Club.

Gonzalo is twenty-eight years old and he is best described as a strong player who is found at the right position, at the right time. He is known for his powerful shots and his free-kick taking abilities.

During this season, he was playing with the Uruguayan top division side Plaza Colonia, where he made ten appearances and scored three goals. He had enjoyed previous experiences in his country with a host of Uruguayan Clubs Rentistas, Rample Juniors and Sud America. During the last season, he also had positive spells in the Chilean top division with Antofagasta and Santiago Morning respectively.

Birkirkara will have to wait for the transfer market to open to register the Uruguayan forward, and should be available for selection on Sunday, 8 January when they take on Pembroke Athleta FC.
