New committee elected

Birkirkara FC held the Annual General Meeting yesterday for Season 2016-2017, and a new committee was elected. All committee members that formed part of the committee of last season were elected, with the only exception of Michael Bonnici, while Colin Bason and Emmanuel Bezzina are the new members elected.

Candidates for Committee election

Birkirkara FC is going to hold its Annual General Meeting tomorrow evening at 19:30. During the AGM, the Club's members will vote for the election of the committee, which will be made up of nine members. Sixteen members have submitted their nomination, out of which, eighth are seeking re-election, and eight are new candidates. Another two nominations were not valid, as they were from non-members.

Women Under-17's in Knock-Out final

Birkirkara FC Women Under-17's Team produced a magnificent performance to secure a place in the Under-17's Knock-Out Final, when they scored three goals in the extra-time period to defeat Tarxien Rainbows with a 5-2 score.

Stripes win Knock-Out to complete the double

Birkirkara FC Women's Team clinched the Women's Knock-Out for the thirteenth time on Wednesday evening, when they defeated Kirkop United FC with a 2-0 score. For the Stripes, this achievement finished their season in style after they have won their sixth league title last month.

Ryan Scicluna awarded for the goal of the season

Birkirkara FC midfielder Ryan Scicluna has been chosen for the MFA goal of the season 2016-2017. Scicluna was awarded for his magnificent goal from just past the half-way line in the 7-1 victory over Gzira United FC, played on Saturday 22 October 2016.

Stephania Farrugia awarded as BOV Women's League Best Player

Birkirkara FC Women's Team defender Stephania Farrugia has been chosen the BOV Women's League Best Player in the MFA Awards 2017. This is the second prestigious award for Farrugia this week, after on Monday, she was also chosen as the MFPA Best Female Footballer.

Women Under -17's Team make it to the Semi Final

Birkirkara FC Women Under-17's Team booked their place in the Knock-Out Semi-Final, when they produced an outstanding performance to defeat Mgarr United FC with a 2-1 score. The Stripes will now face Tarxien Rainbows in the semi-final.

Newly-crowned Champions Birkirkara FC Women's Team will be facing Kirkop United FC in the Women's Knock-Out final, after they sealed their place by outclassing Hibernians FC in the semi-final with a comfortable 4-0 score.

Clarification about UEFA Licence decision

Following the news received by the Club on Tuesday afternoon that the MFA Appeals Board had not upheld its appeal with regards to the MFA Licensing Board not to issue it with a UEFA licence, the Club's President Dr Adrian Delia, called an urgent committee meeting on Tuesday evening. Dr Delia offered his resignation, but gave his full commitment to the Club to keep on fighting this injustice suffered by the Club and seek the necessary redress at UEFA level. The other committee members unanimously refused the resignation, and vouched their full support to the Club and President.

Birkirkara FC organised a farewell to Captain Gareth Sciberras on Tuesday evening, as well as a recognition to his excellent service towards our Club, after the thirty-four year old midfielder announced his retirement from football.

Birkirkara F.C. would like to confirm the participation of the Women's Team in the UEFA Women's Champions League for Season 2017-2018, following the decision of the Member Clubs Licensing Board not to grant the Club a UEFA Licence for Season 2017-2018.
